Common Questions
What clients ask us first
My bank says a wire was blocked under OFAC. What does that mean?
A blocked payment is frozen by the bank under U.S. sanctions rules, usually because of a potential sanctions match. Depending on the facts, there may be ways to seek release, and timing and evidence matter.
Can you act as U.S. counsel on a transaction led by a foreign firm?
Yes. We regularly work alongside counsel in other jurisdictions on the U.S. aspects of a deal.
Do you review contracts in Chinese and English?
Yes. We work in both languages, so you can understand exactly what you are signing.
