This policy explains what personal information SZ & Chi LLP ("we," "us") collects through szclaw.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only. Information we receive from clients in the course of a representation is governed by our professional obligations of confidentiality and our engagement terms, not by this policy.
Information you give us
When you use our consultation form, we receive what you enter: your name, email address, phone number or WeChat ID if you provide one, the topic you select, any case number, and your message. If you email or call us, we receive the information you choose to share.
Please keep your first message brief. Until we have checked for conflicts of interest and agreed in writing to represent you, do not send confidential or sensitive details about your matter. See our Disclaimer for why.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our server records standard technical information for each request, such as IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. We use these logs to operate the site, prevent abuse, fix problems and count visits in aggregate. Our visit counts do not use cookies and do not store IP addresses.
Analytics cookies. If you choose "Accept" in our cookie notice, we load Google Analytics through a Google tag to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site. Google may then set cookies and process information about your visit under its own privacy policy. If you choose "Decline," make no choice, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the Google tag is not loaded. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
The site also stores your cookie choice in your browser, and our administrators' login uses a session cookie. We do not use advertising cookies, social media pixels or session-recording tools.
Case list searches. Searches on our ILND case list run in your browser and are not sent to or stored by us.
How we use information
We use personal information to respond to your inquiry, check for conflicts of interest before discussing a matter, provide and improve the website, keep it secure, and meet our legal and professional obligations. We do not use the contact form to add you to a mailing list.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with:
- service providers that help us run the site and our email, including our cloud hosting provider, our email provider, and Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the site;
- Google, for analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies;
- authorities or others when required by law or legal process, or when needed to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Visitors outside the United States
Our website and service providers are located in the United States. If you contact us from another country, including China, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
Retention
We keep consultation requests as long as needed to respond and to meet our professional record-keeping and conflict-checking obligations. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted connections. No website, internet transmission or email system is completely secure, so please use judgment about what you send.
Your choices and requests
You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information you sent us through this site by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your request. Some information may have to be kept to meet legal or ethical obligations. Residents of states with consumer privacy laws, such as California, may have additional rights under those laws to the extent they apply to us; we will honor requests consistent with applicable law, and you will not be treated differently for making one.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites we link to.
